Luciano Funetta was born in Gioia del Colle, in Southern Italy, and lives in Rome. He is part of the group of writers known as TerraNullius. He has published short stories in several magazines including Watt, Granta Italia, and Costola, among others. Hailed by critics, Funetta’s debut novel, Dalle rovine (Tunué), was finalist for the 2016 Strega Prize. His second novel Il grido (Chiarelettere.) earned The Bridge Award for Fiction in 2018.
