Born in Manhattan, NYC, and raised in New Jersey, Eli Gottlieb worked as a Senior Editor of Elle Magazine and taught American Literature as a Lecturer at the University of Padova, Italy. His first novel, The Boy Who Went Away (St.Martin’s Press, 1997) earned the Rome Prize and the Mckitterick Prize from the British Society of Authors in 1998. The book has been published in 14 countries. Best Boy (Liverhight, 2015) is his fourth novel and winner of The Bridge Book Award 2016 for Fiction. The book has been translated in Italian and published by Minimum Fax.
