Pamela O. Long (nata nel 1943) è una storica americana indipendente specializzata in Storia del Tardo Medioevo e del Rinascimento e in Storia della Scienza e della Tecnologia. È coautrice e co-editrice di  The Book of Michael of Rhodes: A Fifteenth-Century Maritime Manuscript, 3 vols. (Cambridge, Mass.: MIT Press, 2009. Tra le varie pubblicazioni e’ incluso Openness, Secrecy, Authorship: Technical Arts and the Culture of Knowledge from Antiquity to the Renaissance (Baltimore: Johns Hopkins University Press, 2001), vincitore del Morris D. Forkosch Prize. L’ultimo libro di Pamela O. Long Engineering the Eternal City: Infrastructure, Topography, and the Culture of Knowledge in Late Sixteenth-Century Rome (University of Chicago Press, 2018) ha vinto il Premio Letterario The Bridge per la Saggistica nel 2019.
